Ms Dynamites Back With A Banger!

At first we were ill stuck on 'Boo' Back in 2001, when the track made it to No.12# in the U.K Music Charts, now wee see Ms Dynamite is back with another club banger. The intelligent mix of dubstep and electro lets us know that she hasn't lost her musical touch, despite her long break from the scene.

So, How Long Have You Been Doing Photography and how did u start?

Let’s start from the beginning.

I went to Gladesmore Community School in 1998, but I though I was a ‘BIG SHOT’ - - as you do when you’re young – and instead of being at school, I wasted my days. Although my family and friends advised me to go back to school and get an education I never listened to anyone, I thought I knew best. I was growing up fast and I couldn’t read or write. I was diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of 6 I found it really hard to read, I couldn’t even read texts people sent me. What really hurt the most laughing behind my back because I couldn’t read or write. Then I realized I wanted to go back to school. A meeting was arranged with my school and although they accepted be back they told me I would have to be put back a year, yet being determined, I followed through.

I was put on a part-time timetable were I was in school a few days a week and at college the other days. During the days at college I did taster courses in motor mechanics, childcare, catering plus reading and writing. One day at school we did photography and people started telling me that I had an eye for it and I was blessed with the gift. Believe me, if they had photography when I was in secondary school, I would have been there ever day of the week come rain or shine.

At the age of 16 I was introduced to Exposure Magazine by Peter Isaac – one of the tutors who taught me photography - a few weeks later I had my work published in Exposure Magazine.

Although I left school with no GCSE’s I never let that stop me. I carried on doing what I loved whilst in a part time job at a fruit stall and I was still getting my work published in Exposure Magazine, from which I got allot of positive feedback

Ever since I've been working hard, to be BEST!

Jasmine Nixon - Glumplum

Jasmine Nixon is an up and coming fashion stylist and photographer from East London aiming to pave her way into the limelight of the designing world with the release of her new label ‘GLUMPLUM’. For Jasmine GLUMPLUM is not only a label, but a 21st Century fashion statement. I thought I’d catch I’m with Ms Nixon to find out what her labels all about.

Photobucket

So Jasmine, what Made You Come Up With The Idea Of 'GLUMPLUM' and What Does It Represent?

I've always had a love for fashion, ever since I can remember. Growing up, I found it interesting doing things like reading editorial magazines and watching fashion shows because it amazed me to see how one person could represent so many different things just by the way they were styled. I was then inspired to create a style of my own, something different that represented the person I am, and all the things that inspire me. I would then say that 'GLUMPLUM' represents a person who is rebellious yet glamorous, an individual who isn't afraid to break fashion "rules".

What Makes GLUMPLUM Different From Other Labels?

'GLUMPLUM' is different from other labels because I'm young and not many young people have the ability to come up with a spontaneous idea and create the look that I'm attempting to portray.

Photobucket

What Inspired You To Take GLUMPLUM On As A Career?

I was inspired to take 'GLUMPLUM' on as a career because I love the idea of being my own manager and owning a family business. In the future, I would like people to recognise 'GLUMPLUM' as a style of life.

Name Three Other Up And Coming Labels That You Feel Have The Potential To Blow Apart From Your Own.

"Strip", “I am famous" & "Keep The Peace"

Photobucket

How Do You Expect To Take Your Label To Another Level?

I plan to gain exposure by exhibiting my work at social events such as Open Mic's and fashion shows so that more people will recognise the label.

Where Do Your Other Talents Lie Apart From Styling and Photography?

I love to do dabble in a bit of everything really lol [SHE LAUGHS], but in particular dancing.

Photobucket

Describe GLUMPLUM In Three Words!

Rebellious, Wild, Glamorous!

What Have You Got In Store For The Future?

My main plan for the future is to gain exposure in the US. Also, to bring out an official clothing design and open up a store.

Watch Out For More ‘GLUMPLUM’ this year!
